Tiancheng Qixia Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Shaowu City

The Tiancheng Qixia Scenic Area is located in Xiaojiafang Town in the southwestern part of Shaowu City, covering a total area of 32 square kilometers, including the 18,000-mu Jiangshi Nature Reserve. Tiancheng Qixia features uniquely shaped Danxia landforms formed by intense tectonic movements approximately 100 million to 7,000 years ago. It is also an important part of the Taining UNESCO Global Geopark.

The scenic area boasts beautiful landscapes and captivating scenery. Its undulating, layered Danxia landforms are home to thousands of uniquely shaped peaks and rocks, each vivid and lifelike. Notable formations include the majestic Chicken Comb Mountain, the solitary Tuoji Peak, the misty Tianma Peak, the roaring Lion Peak, the serene Giant Turtle Rock, the gracefully leaning Sister Peaks, as well as Double Lions in Love, Monkey King Peak, Heavenly Plaque, Saddle Peak, Giant Ship Peak, Mandarin Duck One-Line Sky, Eagle Cliff, Ancient Pagoda Peak, and many more. Visitors can admire the clustered peaks and cascading waterfalls, view the red cliffs and lush forests, listen to the pine waves and birdsong, drift along winding streams, climb to the summit, and take in the panoramic view of verdant peaks—an enchanting landscape of exquisite red cliffs and clear waters that is both refreshing and unforgettable.

Shaowu to Scenic Area: Take the Pujian Expressway—drive 54.4 km—exit at Heping/Xiaojiafang/S205—turn right—head toward Taining/S205—turn right onto S205—arrive at destination.
