The Tomb of Huang Qiao is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Location: Kantou Village, Heping Town, Shaowu City

Description: The tomb is circular in shape, with a central raised dome, stone walls, and a flat base paved with radially arranged stones; inner diameter 2.9 meters, outer diameter 4.2 meters, area 13.66 square meters. Behind the tomb, a stele from the 44th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1783) marking its renovation stands centrally. To the upper right rear of Huang Qiao’s tomb lies the grave of his father, Xigong. To the upper left rear, there is a “Huang Clan Prohibition Stele” erected in the 17th year of the Daoguang reign (1837).

Huang Qiao (871–953), a native of Shaowu, Fujian, served as Vice Minister of Works in the Later Tang Dynasty.

Protected area: The tomb site extends 15 meters outward in all directions.

In 2009, the Tomb of Huang Qiao was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Kantou Village: Kantou Village was recognized as a Civilized Village of Shaowu City in 2011. In 2003, it was listed as one of the model villages for new rural construction in Shaowu. It is located at 117°17′53″ east longitude and 27°12′12″ north latitude, approximately 45 kilometers from the urban area. It borders Lukou Village to the east, Weichong Village and Luojian Village to the south, Kanxia Village to the west, and Zhuyuan Village to the north.

Kantou Village is under the jurisdiction of Heping Town, Shaowu City. It got its name because it was built at the end of a field ridge, where “ridge” is referred to as “kǎn” (坎) in the local dialect, hence the name Kantou (坎头).
