Huangtuguan

Huangtuguan is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Huangtuguan is located in Jinkeng Village, Jinkeng Township, Shaowu City, dating from the Yuan to the Qing dynasties.

Description: Historically known as Huangtuzhai or Huangtuxia, after the Southern Song Dynasty it served as the border pass between Fujian and Jiangxi, referred to as Wanghu Pass. The Yuan Dynasty established the Huangtuzhai Patrol Office here, while the Ming Dynasty built the stone walls of the pass. The Qing Dynasty continued using and expanding it, and it has long been known as the “throat leading into Fujian and a vital route into Jiangxi.” The pass runs north-south, built on the mountain terrain, and…

Protected area: Extending 50 meters outward from the existing Huangtuguan walls to the east and south, west to the ancient road, and north to the provincial highway.

In 2018, Huangtuguan was designated as part of the ninth batch of Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
