Yingjie Temple

Yingjie Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Yingjie Temple – A provincial-level cultural heritage site. Located on the eastern side of Yangyuan Village, it was first built during the Chongning era of the Song Dynasty (1102–1106) as a temple dedicated to Zhang Jin, the Fujian Pacification Commissioner. The temple features golden statues of Zhang Jin and his wife, as well as his general Guo Rong. It has been rebuilt multiple times over the years. The existing main hall and stage were reconstructed in the first year of the Kangxi reign (1662) and the 30th year of the Daoguang reign (1850). Covering an area of 420 square meters, the main hall is three bays wide and 14.2 meters deep. It has fireproof gable walls on both sides, a post-and-lintel structure, and spindle-shaped golden columns. The stage has a double-eave hip-and-gable roof and features an octagonal caisson ceiling inside. Its walls preserve murals of the Siping Opera’s theatrical deities. This ancient stage is recorded in the *China Theatre Chronicles*.
