Shizhen Village

Shizhen Village is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Shizhen Village is located on the southern bank of Qixing Stream in the western part of Zhenghe County, just 5 kilometers from the county town. Situated in the valley plain and terraces of Qixing Stream, its terrain resembles a peninsula. No one knows exactly when the village was first established, but it dates back at least to the mid-Song Dynasty. Currently, Shizhen has 126 households and a population of over 500. Since ancient times, Shizhen has been regarded as a feng shui treasure land. The village backs onto a hill known as the Recumbent Ox Mound, and its superior geographical location ensures bumper harvests year after year. Lush green mountains, dense forests, winding waters and paths — these are the vivid realities before your eyes, far beyond what the word "beautiful" can convey.

Thanks to its exceptional geographical environment, the village once enjoyed a glorious past. Scattered throughout the village are the remnants of old buildings such as inns, taverns, pharmacies, gold shops, and opium dens. Today, these ruins are like weather-beaten elders of centuries past, quietly telling stories of former glory.
