Yijuyong Wine Culture Museum

The Yijuyong Wine Culture Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

Located in the Ninghe Economic Development Zone, Yijuyong Wine Industry Brewing Co., Ltd. covers an area of 100 acres. In 2002, the Yijuyong Wine Culture Museum was built, spanning a total area of 1,500 square meters. In addition, the factory site also features the Yijuyong Wine Cellar, Yijuyong Square, fossils from 1.8 billion years ago of the Mesoproterozoic to Upper Proterozoic eras engraved with the classic "Ode to Yijuyong," ten humorous jar paintings, traditional open-pan distilled liquor equipment, and other attractions, making it a highlight of Tianjin’s industrial tourism.

The museum mainly consists of a two-story main exhibition hall, a Rose Bar, a product display hall, a Herbal Gallery, and old advertisements along the corridors. The main exhibition hall focuses on showcasing the 700-year history of Tianjin’s wine culture and over 200 years of Yijuyong’s export history, highlighting the brand’s challenging yet glorious development journey and recreating the unique charm of the Zhigu culture. The Rose Bar introduces the beautiful legend of the Greek goddess of roses and four famous rose illustrations from the "Rose Bible," while also offering cocktails made with rose liqueur. The product display hall exhibits the company’s finished alcoholic beverages exported and sold domestically over the years. The Herbal Gallery displays inscriptions from leaders, customers, and brewing industry experts, as well as meticulous and ink-wash paintings created by the company’s employees. The promotional posters on both sides of the corridor are articles and advertisements published in newspapers in China and abroad from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Inside the Yijuyong Wine Cellar, there is China’s most unique wine jar tunnel, vintage aged liquors, and a DIY bottling area. The wine jar tunnel displays our company’s ten- and twenty-year cellared highland liquor and vintage rose liqueur, intended for purchase and collection by leaders and tourists. The DIY bottling area showcases the bottling workshop’s workflow, allowing visitors to choose their favorite bottles and types of liquor to experience the fun of bottling, corking, and capping, as well as creating personalized wine labels with their own photos to affix to their bottles.

The factory site includes Yijuyong Square, ten humorous jar paintings, traditional open-pan distilled liquor equipment, and other attractions. The theme sculpture at Yijuyong Square, the Yijuyong Wine Jar, integrates the history and culture of Yijuyong. The platform above and the ancient well below symbolize the saying "water from heaven above the well," representing that Yijuyong liquor is brewed from a famous spring with a long history. The interior of the wine jar features murals that depict a condensed version of the company’s century-long history. Next to the Yijuyong Wine Jar is a stone from the Mesoproterozoic to Upper Proterozoic era engraved with the "Ode to Yijuyong," which also serves as a testament to the brand’s hundred-year legacy. The ten humorous jar paintings in the factory courtyard use styles such as comics, Yangliuqing New Year paintings, Wuqiang New Year paintings, Japanese ukiyo-e, and European woodblock prints to vividly combine historical anecdotes such as rose liqueur in “Dream of the Red Chamber,” Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon rose liqueur, Li Hongzhang and Wujiapi, the Prince Qing Mansion and Yijuyong, China’s divine water Wujiapi, Mahatma Gandhi’s rose liqueur, KFC rose liqueur advertisement, the Yang Naiwu and Xiaobaicai story, the Legend of the Mad Monk and rose liqueur, and Japan’s attempt to learn Highland liquor brewing. These illustrate the long and enduring history of our liquor products. Traditional Yijuyong Fire Liqueur Pot still follows the traditional folk-secret fire-distilled brewing method. Fire Liqueur is an ancient type of distilled liquor; although it has excellent quality, it is costly and complex to produce, and the process is mainly passed down orally through generations and is rarely revealed. Currently, only Yijuyong in Tianjin continues to use this technique. The Yijuyong Liqueur Pot showcases historical methods by digging pits, building stoves, and using firewood or coal to create distillation effects, demonstrating Yijuyong’s most traditional and ancient brewing craftsmanship.
