Established in 1995, Guida Woniu Lake Holiday Scenic Area is located in Miaozhuang Town, Ninghe County, Tianjin. Adjacent to National Highway 205 and the Jintang Expressway, it enjoys convenient transportation. Spanning 1,500 acres, with water areas making up over 70% of the site, the area boasts a diverse range of water-based activities. It is a comprehensive scenic destination that combines tourism, catering, accommodation, entertainment, mineral spring bathing, indoor and outdoor fishing, and conference hosting.

The Guida Hotel, located within the scenic area, was approved as a foreign-related hotel in September 1998 and designated as a three-star hotel by the tourism bureau in August 2002. The dining section features high- and mid-range private rooms as well as banquet halls suitable for group meals and conferences. With top chefs at the helm, guests can enjoy a wide selection of cuisines across all price ranges. The hotel offers elegant standard rooms, various waterside standard rooms, private rooms, suites, and hot spring garden suites to accommodate all types of guests. The Qingxin Garden Waterside Suite resembles a historical rainbow, showcasing its “essence-energy-spirit-momentum” on the island, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Luxury KTV private rooms, beauty salons, tennis courts, chess and card rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and fishing facilities offer a variety of recreational activities. The hot spring bathhouse uses mineral water sourced from 1,400 meters underground. The 6,000-square-meter indoor Japanese-style Qingxin Mineral Spring Bath is a garden-style bathing facility that combines sightseeing, bathing, and water play, providing a cozy experience year-round.

The Woniu Lake Holiday Area features a long, slender, and graceful lake that winds along the contours of the land, earning it the nickname “The Slender West Lake of the North.” Painted pleasure boats, speedboats, and cruise ships glide through the islands and fishing net arrays. The area is rich in natural resources. Vegetation includes reeds, cattails, and algae—emergent and submerged aquatic plants. Aquatic resources comprise over 20 species of freshwater and migratory fish such as grass carp, carp, crucian carp, eel, loach, and soft-shelled turtle (the latter naturally hatched and strictly protected from harvesting). There are also shrimp, crabs, and shellfish, which have long been famed under the reputation of “silver fish and purple crabs.” Birdlife includes wild geese, ducks, geese, herons, egrets, and warblers. Lvyu Yan Garden is shaded by trees, where wild geese and ducks frolic around the island and its surrounding waters. Fangzhou Deer Shadow features deer, peacock, and ostrich enclosures, as well as pheasants and guinea fowl, allowing animal-loving visitors to get up close with wildlife.

The Water Harvesting Garden faces Dasheng Mountain. Its pear, plum, grape, apricot, and peach orchards are lush and surrounded by winding waterways. The pavilions within the gardens provide resting spots for visitors. During harvest season, it becomes a place to sample fruits, where you can stroll among the trees, pick fresh produce, and enjoy the pleasure of a bountiful harvest.

Wangyu Village is the fishing and shrimp-catching hub of the Woniu Lake area. The fish caught here daily directly supply the restaurants. These fish are raised without any additives, making them wild and green, and thus exceptionally fresh. You can go boating to fish and experience the joy of catching your own meal.

The Water Conference Area features pavilions, terraces, towers, and pavilions, accommodating up to 500 people for conferences, private rooms, and dining. This zone is divided by numerous water channels between the main building and 11 smaller gardens. The 11 small gardens consist of 16 guest rooms in total (excluding the Emperor’s Suite). Traditional design elements are widely used in the architecture, such as those found in Suzhou gardens. Winding corridors, artificial hills, pavilions, and buildings all reflect the characteristics of traditional southern Chinese rural homes, combined with the functional forms of commercial hotels. This merges ancient and modern architectural arts, refined and summarized to retain a Jiangnan aesthetic. White walls set the tone, complemented by muted gray tones, creating a clean and bright style. The repeated use of horse-head walls adds undulating variation, with four standalone buildings of varying heights—the tallest being three stories. The contrast of gray and white is both striking and harmonious. Meandering water corridors and reflected pavilions create a tranquil and serene atmosphere. The 11 small gardens feature layered white walls and dark tiles, forming a pleasing visual rhythm and offering a lingering sense of architectural artistry.

- Comprising three uniquely shaped lakes that form distinct fishing zones, the area is lined with weeping willows. Fishing platforms divide the east and west sections into Mandarin Duck Garden and Swan Garden. Birdsong Valley and Roaring Waterfall Valley are nestled among them. Here, you can watch playful mandarin ducks and listen to the melodious sounds echoing around—a truly refined delight.

The Lotus Garden features beautiful lotus flowers, mandarin ducks, and ornamental fish, creating a serene, nature-immersed, and tranquil ambiance. When in season, blooming lotuses transport visitors into a fairyland-like setting. Walking along meandering paths leads to the vegetable sightseeing area, where a variety of fresh, tender, and delicious organic vegetables are available for visitors to pick themselves. These can then be prepared and enjoyed at the unique farmhouse restaurant nearby, offering a full taste of rural cuisine and adding a touch of farmstead fun. Egrets, reeds, and lotus seeds form a picturesque scene of waterfowl. A sculpture symbolizing wealth and harvest, titled “Year of Abundance,” has been placed in the garden, becoming another highlight of the Lotus Garden. Visitors can enjoy freshly ground soy milk and pick vegetables in the rustic farmhouse courtyard, experiencing authentic countryside charm away from the city bustle. To the northwest of the Lotus Garden lies a bird habitat, home to many wild and rare species such as swans, wild geese, ducks, and mandarin ducks, which can often be seen flying overhead or foraging and playing.
