Zhangzhou Zhongshan Park

Zhangzhou Zhongshan Park in Fujian Province is located on Yan’an Road in downtown Zhangzhou, covering an area of nearly 60 acres. It is one of the municipal leisure parks in Fujian. A “Zhongshan Memorial Platform” was once built in the park, likely situated to the south of the current “Zhangzhou Liberation Monument.” The platform was erected when the 19th Route Army stationed in Zhangzhou, but it was destroyed during the War of Resistance against Japan in an air raid by Japanese bombers. The park now features structures such as a fountain pool, Seven Stars Pool, Meigang Hill, Liberation Monument, and a hexagonal pavilion with a stone pillar.

Sun Yat-sen (1866–1925), also known as Wen, courtesy name Zaizhi, art names Risun and Yixian, childhood name Dixiang, alias Zhongshanqiao, commonly referred to as Zhongshan. He was born into a farming family in Cuiheng Village, Xiangshan County (now Zhongshan City), Guangdong Province.
