Location: Fuyao Village, Guokeng Town, Longwen District, Zhangzhou City

Introduction: Initially constructed in the 28th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1600), it underwent two renovations in the 15th year of the Shunzhi reign (1658) and the 10th year of the Guangxu reign (1884) of the Qing Dynasty. The temple is built against a mountain, facing southwest, covering an area of about 4,200 square meters with a construction area of 452 square meters. The main building consists of two courtyards with five bays in width. The stone pillars at the front eaves of the main hall were donated and custom-made by Taiwanese members of the Yang family from Fuyao Village who resided in Taiwan, during the 10th year of the Guangxu reign. Associated relics mainly include the Zhen’an Fort, a fortress at the top of Yao Mountain dating back to the Ming Dynasty, and 13 pottery kiln ruins at the foot of the mountain.

Protected area: Fuyao Guan Di Temple — 30 meters outward from all sides of the structure;

Zhen’an Fort — 10 meters outward from all sides of the fort wall.

In 2009, Fuyao Guan Di Temple was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Fuyao Village: Fuyao Village, originally the collective name for Yao Mountain and Zhu Mountain, covered an area of 4.5 square kilometers in 2007, with a population of 2,200 and 465 households. It administers two natural villages—Fuyao and Houzhai—and 10 villager groups. The village is primarily engaged in sugarcane, fruit, and vegetable cultivation, edible fungus farming, animal husbandry, and fruit and vegetable processing. In 2007, the total income was 51.7 million yuan, of which sugarcane planting brought in 2 million yuan and animal husbandry 22.53 million yuan.
