Longxiao Park

Longxiao Park is located in the center of the commercial pedestrian street on Longhu Road in Xiaocheng. The east and west sections are 510 meters long and 50 meters wide, covering an area of 38.25 mu. Originally planned to be constructed after the new urban area was completed, in order to intensify efforts to build a civilized county, the County Party Committee, County Government, and County Civilization Committee decided to start the project ahead of schedule, aiming to create a high-standard, high-quality garden.

In October 1998, the command center commissioned the county design office to draft the plans. After repeated deliberations by relevant experts and county leaders, and multiple revisions, it was decided to build a multifunctional, open-style garden. The park now features two double-decker hexagonal pavilions, three flower stands, one decorative colored-light fountain, thirty-two flower beds, six white-marble animal sculptures, twenty street lamps, with roads and facilities covering an area of 5,500 square meters, and green space spanning 20,000 square meters.

Construction began in February 1999. The greening project was undertaken through a bidding process, with contractors guaranteeing plant survival and maintenance for two years. Currently, over 60 types of flowers, plants, and shrubs—including wintersweet, peony, red maple, longevity peach, and osmanthus—have been fully planted, along with 14,000 square meters of lawn. The entire project was completed by the end of June, with a total investment of 1.8 million yuan. Now, Longxiao Park has become the best place for the people of Xiaocheng to relax, entertain, cool off, and engage in activities. At the same time, it contributes to the greening and beautification of the city, enhances urban quality, and serves as a beautiful landmark in Xiaocheng.
