Site of Chan Yang Temple

The Site of Chan Yang Temple is a cultural heritage protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Site of Chan Yang Temple is a sloping area that is higher in the middle and gently slopes downward on all sides, covering an area of 100,200 square meters. It is currently farmland, with a well-preserved cultural deposit layer that is 2.4 meters thick. A large number of relics have been discovered at the site, including red-fired clay, stone axes, stone knives, bronze arrowheads, bone needles, ant-nose coins, and pottery net sinkers. Collected samples include gray pottery tripod leg fragments, pottery dou (food vessel) stems, dou rims, basin rims, jar rims, (duck-billed, flat-chiseled, conical) ding (tripod cauldron) legs, and perforated pottery fragments. Based on the analysis of unearthed artifacts, these items can be confirmed as belonging to the late Dawenkou Culture and the Eastern Zhou period. The Site of Chan Yang Temple is relatively well preserved and is a typical ancient site from early times, possessing extremely high preservation and academic research value.

Protected Area: 200 meters east and west from the center point of the site, and 125 meters north and south.

Construction Control Zone: Outside the protected area, extending south to the Fuyang-Bengbu Highway, north to Heitu Gully, east to Liulizhuang, and 50 meters west.

Madianzi Town: Madianzi Town is located in the southwest of Lixin County, approximately 9 kilometers from the county seat. It borders the Xifei River to the east, facing Chengji Town, Shuangqiao Township, and Chundian Township across the river. To the north, it neighbors Wangshi Town, to the west it adjoins Yongxing Town, and to the south it lies along the new Ci-Huai River, facing Hujizhen Town and Dali Jizhen Town across the water. The Fuyang-Bengbu Highway and the Fu-Meng River run through the town. On February 27, 1992, the former Madian District was abolished and merged with neighboring towns. Yongxing Township and Shuanglong Township were dissolved to establish the Yongxing Town Committee and Yongxing Town People's Government of Lixin County.
