Xiaozhangzhuang Ecotourism Scenic Area

Xiaozhangzhuang Ecotourism Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers northeast of Yingcheng. In the past, this area along the Jih River was prone to severe flooding during heavy rains, minor flooding during light rains, and droughts when there was no rain at all. After ten years of land improvement and water management, the people of Xiaozhangzhuang established a farmland forest network and protective shelterbelts to reduce the impact of monsoons on crops. They built ditches along roadsides and canals by the fields, enabling irrigation during droughts and drainage during floods. They successfully forged a path to prosperity through ecological agriculture. Their outstanding contributions to eco-agriculture were recognized by the United Nations, which awarded Xiaozhangzhuang the title of “Global 500 Roll of Honour for Environmental Achievement” by the United Nations Environment Programme. Within Xiaozhangzhuang Park lies “Wangfu Mountain.”?

The mountain is covered with lush pines and cypresses. From its summit, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Xiaozhangzhuang. The park features art galleries, pavilions, stone sculptures, a children’s playground, a zoo, and a tropical rainforest garden. A Monument to the Working People, majestic and imposing, stands within the park. To the south of the park stands the 13-story “Environmental Protection Tower,” commemorating Xiaozhangzhuang’s special contributions to ecology.
