The Former Site of the Headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s 7th Division is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province, a classic red tourism attraction, and a patriotic education base.

Former Site of the Headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s 7th Division: Located in Shanshuijian Village, Hongmiao Town, the site currently preserves seven single-story houses constructed with stone bricks, timber, and clay tiles topped with small roof tiles. It includes the cipher office of the 7th Division Headquarters, five rooms once inhabited by Comrade Zeng Xisheng, the political commissar of the 7th Division, desks and chairs used by the division’s leaders, as well as three crabapple trees grafted personally by Zeng Xisheng at that time.

The Memorial Hall of the Former Site of the Headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s 7th Division was built in 1995, located 300 meters west of the Wanjiang Martyrs’ Cemetery. It covers an area of 2,880 square meters, with a building area of 998.2 square meters. The main structure is a classical Huizhou-style building. The hall includes a main exhibition room and an exhibition space for calligraphy and paintings by veterans of the New Fourth Army. The main exhibition room displays the entire history of the establishment, development, and growth of the 7th Division during the War of Resistance Against Japan, showcasing over 120 revolutionary relics, approximately 50,000 words of textual materials, and 282 various charts and photos. Six hundred meters north of the memorial hall lies Sanshuijian Village, the location of the former headquarters of the 7th Division. Covering an area of 1,800 square meters, it served as the office space for leaders such as Zeng Xisheng, Fu Qiutao, and Li Buxin at the time of the division’s establishment. From its founding in May 1941 to its northern withdrawal in October 1945, many orders related to the development and expansion of the 7th Division were issued from this site. The site currently retains five original earthen-walled, thatched-roof houses covering about 120 square meters, including offices and bedrooms used by the division leadership. The courtyard also still has three crabapple trees grafted by Comrade Zeng Xisheng in 1942.

Hongmiao Town: Hongmiao Town is located in the northwest of Wuwei County, Anhui Province, covering a total area of 84 square kilometers. It has 3,314 hectares of arable land, 240 hectares of mountainous land, and 314 hectares of water surface. Situated at the upper reaches of the Huadu River and Yong’an River systems, it is 18 kilometers from the county seat. A standard county road runs through the town, providing convenient transportation. The town administers seven village committees and one community neighborhood committee, with a population of 43,800.
