The Fishing Terrace Site in Hexian

The Fishing Terrace Site: Located northeast of Diaoli Village, Liyang Town, Hexian. It is an oval-shaped earthen mound covering an area of approximately 3,500 square meters, dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

On July 28, 2017, the Fishing Terrace Site in Hexian was designated as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Ma'anshan City.

Protected Area: Starting from the central point of the site, it extends 40 meters east, 35 meters west, with a total east-west length of 75 meters, 25 meters south, 35 meters north, and a total north-south length of 60 meters. Construction Control Zone: Starting from the central point of the site, it spans 75 meters east to the western bank of Desheng River, 60 meters west to farmland, with a total east-west length of 135 meters, 70 meters south to the northern bank of Yejiatang, 50 meters north to the southern bank of Desheng River, and a total north-south length of 120 meters.

Liyang Town: Liyang Town, anciently known as Yafu City, was established over 2,000 years ago by Fan Zeng, the Marquis of Liyang. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, it served as a station of the ancient Yangzhou commandery. It is now the political, economic, and cultural center of Hexian County, recognized as a "Star Township," one of the "Top Ten Strong Townships," and an "Advanced National Spiritual Civilization Township" in Chaohu City. The town covers a total area of 164 square kilometers, comprising 17 villages and 8 communities, with a population of 133,000, of which about 100,000 live in the urban area.
