Zhangma River Site

Zhangma River Site: Located in Zhangmahe Village, Zhouji Administrative Village, Wujiang Town, He County. Dating back to the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties.

On July 28, 2017, the Zhangma River Site was designated as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Ma'anshan City.

Protected area: Starting from the approximate center of the site, 50 meters east, 60 meters west, 110 meters from east to west, 55 meters south, 65 meters north, 120 meters from south to north; construction control zone: starting from the approximate center of the site, 70 meters east to farmland, 80 meters west to farmland, 150 meters from east to west, 105 meters south to the southern bank of Guodi Pond, 125 meters north to the northern bank of Xintang Pond, 230 meters from south to north.

Wujiang Town: Wujiang, situated in the northeast of He County, is the first town along the 800-li Wanjiang River when traveling upstream from the Yangtze River. Two thousand years ago, Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, chose not to cross the river eastward here, thus bringing an end to the Chu-Han Contention. As a result, Wujiang gained fame across the land.

The town covers a total area of 141 square kilometers, with a population of 70,000, and administers 11 villages and 4 community (residential) committees. In 2004, it achieved a combined industrial and agricultural output value of 620 million yuan, including 400 million yuan from industry, fiscal revenue of 21.25 million yuan, and a per capita net income of 3,311 yuan for farmers.
