Beijing Wax Museum
Situated within the Hall of Abstinence in Ditan Park, this wax museum showcases wax figures of famous individuals from different eras in Chinese history. It is also the first large-scale wax museum in China. Opened to the public in 1990, the museum spans an area of about 800 square meters. The venue was originally used as a fasting site for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties before they conducted earth worship ceremonies, and includes the main hall, the west side hall, and the east side hall. The wax museum utilizes the main hall, west side hall, and east side hall as three exhibition rooms. The first room is the Historical Figures Gallery; the second is the Science and Technology Figures Gallery; and the third is the Literature and Art Figures Gallery. A total of 56 wax figures are displayed across the three rooms, each created based on historical photographs or reference materials.
