Dongdan Park
Dongdan Park was built in 1955 and covers an area of 47,500 square meters. The park has planted over 8,000 trees, flowers, and lawns, offering a fresh environment shaded by green trees and filled with birdsong and floral scents.
This area was originally part of the southern outskirts of Dadu during the Yuan Dynasty. When the city walls were moved southward in the early Ming Dynasty, it was enclosed within the city. After the signing of the Boxer Protocol in 1901, it became part of the Legation Quarter and was used as a training ground for foreign troops. In 1948, a temporary airport was also established here.
Located in the heart of the bustling city, the park plays a significant role in beautifying the surrounding environment and has today become a popular spot for public rest and recreation.
