Xiaxi Wang Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Anhui Province.

Also known as “Duzhentang,” it is located at the western end of Xiaxi Village, Banqiaotou Township, facing south with its back to the north. Research shows that the ancestral hall was originally constructed in the eighth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1882), and the parts that remain today were restored in the summer of 2006 using funds raised by villagers with the surname Wang. The Wang Ancestral Hall has two sections—front and rear—with a courtyard located at the back of the front section. The entire structure employs a post-and-lintel system with large-sized construction materials. It is largely well-preserved and holds certain cultural heritage value. On June 21, 2011, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of county-level protected heritage sites by the county government, with approval document number Jizheng [2011] No. 46. In 2016, it was listed as part of the second batch of municipal-level protected heritage sites by the Xuancheng Municipal People’s Government, under approval document number Xuanzheng Mi [2016] No. 219. In 2019, it was announced as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level protected heritage sites by the Anhui Provincial People’s Government.

Xiaxi Village: Xiaxi Village is located in the northern part of Jixi, at the junction of Jixi, Jingde, and Ningguo counties. It is 42 kilometers away from the county seat and comprises four natural villages: Xiaxi, Nanmenling, Taizikeng, and Mukeng. The village has four villager groups, with 186 households and a population of 668. The village covers an area of 16.8 square kilometers, including 23,332 mu of mountainous land, 439 mu of paddy fields, 361 mu of dry land, and 50 mu of river area. It is a typical mountain village characterized by “eight parts mountain and water, one part farmland, and one part village and roads.” The local economy mainly relies on forestry resources and traditional crop cultivation, with income primarily generated from timber...
