Renlixia Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Xuancheng City.

Renlixia Ancestral Hall

Located in the center of Renli Village, Yingzhou Township, Jixi County, it was built during the Qing Dynasty and faces southeast while oriented northwest. The ancestral hall is named “Jing’ai Hall.” It is divided into front, middle, and rear sections, covering a total area of 687 square meters. The front gate tower has five bays, a hip-and-gable roof, fireproof walls, a post-and-lintel structure, an arched ceiling, and a central ceremonial gate. Bracket sets support the overhanging eaves, and the floor is made of rammed earth. Behind the gate tower is a courtyard with a stone-paved floor; corridors are located on the east and west sides. The main hall has five bays in width and three in depth, with a flush gable roof, a post-and-lintel structure, and a rammed earth floor. The rear hall also has five bays in width and three in depth, with a flush gable roof, a combination of post-and-lintel and through-tenon beam structures, and a rammed earth floor. There are 11 sets of stone-carved railing panels on the front eaves and the slightly recessed east and west bays. Stone steps lead up to the rear hall, which includes a courtyard. The beams, spandrels, and dougong brackets inside the hall are exquisitely carved and hold high artistic value. On June 21, 2011, it was announced as a sixth-batch county-level protected unit by the county government under approval document number Jizheng [2011] No. 46; in 2016, it was listed as a second-batch municipal-level cultural relic protection unit by the Xuancheng Municipal People’s Government under approval document number Xuanzheng Mi [2016] No. 219.
