Located in Dashimen Village, Yangxi Town, the Taizu Temple spans 239.5 square meters, while the ancient theater stage covers 124 square meters. Both were built during the Qing Dynasty. The Taizu Temple is a hall-style structure, facing west with its back to the east, constructed with brick and wood. It has five bays, is covered with small green tiles, and features a flush gable roof. The outer walls are painted red, and the wooden framework is richly decorated with carved components, among which the “Hundred Deer Painting” on the beam of the rear eave is exquisitely crafted. The temple is generally well-preserved. To the east of the Taizu Temple stands an ancient theater stage with upturned eaves, supported underneath by short columns that uphold the stage deck. This stage was built in the Qing Dynasty, measuring 12 meters in width and 9.2 meters in depth. It has a hip-and-gable roof. At the back of the stage are two entrances known as “Exit for Generals” (出将) and “Enter for Ministers” (入相). On the left side of the stage opening is the “Wenyu and Wuchang” area (文武场). The entire stage is supported by dozens of short columns, and the front beam is carved with highly refined details. The Shimen Ancient Theater Stage is well-preserved and boasts a high level of artistic value, being unique in Jixi County and of significant cultural heritage importance. In 1997, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site under approval document Jizheng [1997] No. 35; in 2016, it was listed as a municipal-level cultural heritage site under approval document Xuanzheng Mi [2016] No. 219.

In 2019, it was announced as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Anhui Province.
