The Yangxi Distillery Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Xuancheng City.

Yangxi Distillery Site

Located within the Hushiyan Distillery in Yangxi Village, Yangxi Town, the site was built during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican era. Originally known as the Limin Distillery, it was privately owned until liberation. In 1951, it was taken over by the state, and in 1979, it was restructured under the name Anhui Jixi Hushiyan Liquor Co., Ltd. There are 12 fermentation pits that are generally uniform in size, each measuring 1.8 meters in length, 1.5 meters in width, and 1.2 meters in height. They are constructed from blue bricks. Approximately 3 meters from the pits lies an ancient well, also built with blue bricks, with a diameter of 0.9 meters and a depth of around 7 meters. The well water was used in liquor production. Both the pits and the well are well-preserved and hold high value for the study of ancient brewing techniques. In June 2011, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit under approval document Jizheng [2011] No. 46. In 2016, it was listed as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit under approval document Xuanzheng Mi [2016] No. 219.

It has a subtropical humid monsoon climate, characterized by abundant heat, moderate sunlight, ample rainfall, and distinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 16°C, with a maximum of 38°C and a minimum of -9°C. The frost-free period lasts nearly 210 days per year.
