Fengcun Jinshi Archway

Fengcun Jinshi Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Fengcun Jinshi Archway, the name of a stone memorial archway. It is located in Fengcun Village, Haizhai Township, Jixi County. The structure features four pillars, three gates, and five stories, built from granite. It stands 8 meters tall, is 8.2 meters wide, and has a depth of 2 meters.

The upper front section bears an “Enrong” (Imperial Honor) plaque, while the central part of the lower beam carries the three characters “Jinshi Di” (Jinshi Residence), with inscriptions that read: “Commissioned by the imperial inspector and Governor of Southern Zhili, Minister of War, and Left Vice Censor-in-Chief of the Censorate, Wang Shu; the imperial censor assigned to oversee schools and inspections, Dai Shan and Zhai Qian; the imperial censor of Southern Zhili, Cui Xuan; and Hanlin academician and compiler Zeng Zhui, who was awarded the Jinshi degree and composed this in the spring of the Wuxu year for his fellow candidate Feng Rong.” The reverse side includes the inscription: “Presented by Wang Qin, Prefect of Huizhou Prefecture, Zhang Cong, Administrator, Zhang Ying, Vice Prefect, Yuan Shun, Magistrate, Lou Zong, Associate Magistrate, Wang Bie, Recorder, Yang Xuan, Magistrate Official, and Gu Ying, Inspector. Also by Wu Qian, Magistrate of Jixi County, Zhang Jin, Clerk, Jiang Fa, County Correspondent, Cheng Gang, Constable, Li Huai, Confucian School Instructor, and Tu Yin, Educational Inspector. Erected on an auspicious day in the seventh month of the Ji Hai year during the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty.” It is now a key cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Protected area: 10 meters in all directions—east, south, west, and north—outside the archway structure.

Construction control zone: 20 meters in all directions—east, south, west, and north—beyond the protected area.
