The Mural of the Taiping Army Attacking a City is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Mural of the Taiping Army Attacking a City is located in Wangchuan, Jixi County, Anhui Province.

Located within a branch ancestral hall of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom murals in Wangchuan, Jixi County, Anhui Province, this Cao family branch hall named "Jiusi Hall" was built by Cao Liheng during the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty. According to relevant sources, shortly after the completion of "Jiusi Hall," it became a campsite for Taiping Heavenly Kingdom soldiers. The murals inside "Jiusi Hall" depict scenes left behind by Taiping Heavenly Kingdom soldiers on this land at that time.

Among this group of murals, the most prominent is the “Attack on the City.” According to expert research and relevant sources, the “Attack on the City” is an authentic record of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom soldiers capturing Jingde. It is the genuine work of Taiping soldiers stationed at Jiusi Hall. In addition to the attack mural, other paintings on the walls also celebrate the great peasant war of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom from various perspectives—loftily raised flags fluttering in the wind, grand and imposing artillery formations, all vividly reflecting the righteousness and combat strength of the revolutionary war.

The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom murals in Wangchuan were discovered in February 1951. In September 1961, they were designated as a key provincial cultural relic protection unit by the provincial government, which allocated funds for their restoration and preservation. The site now houses cultural relics used by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, including cannons, broadswords, copper coins, travel permits, and flags.
