Fangjiayuan Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jixi County.

Fangjiayuan Site

A county-level cultural heritage protection unit, it is situated east of Fangjiayuan Village in Huayang Town, 30 meters from Longchuan Avenue. It was discovered in October 1981 during the construction of auxiliary works for the Wan-Gan Railway. The unearthed artifacts mainly include polished willow-leaf-shaped stone arrowheads, notched stone adzes, flat stone axes, and stone chisels. Most of the stone tools were processed from pebbles, with a few made from shale. The shapes of the implements are not very regular, but they are relatively smoothly polished. According to expert assessment, the relative age of the site is the late Neolithic period. In 1982, it was designated as a key cultural heritage protection unit for the entire county.

Huayang Town: Huayang Town is an ancient town with a history of two thousand years and currently serves as the seat of the Jixi County government, functioning as the political, economic, and cultural center of the county. The town administers 5 community neighborhood committees and 4 village committees, covering an area of 83 square kilometers with a population of 43,000. The existing arable land area is 490 hectares, including 337 hectares of paddy fields.
