Former Residence of Wang Ziyě

Located in the center of Renli Village, Yingzhou Town. In his early years, Wang Ziyě went to Yan’an to join the revolution. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he served as the first director of the National Publishing Administration, making significant contributions to China’s publishing industry. This residence is a late Qing Dynasty building, covering an area of 155 square meters, facing southeast and situated northwest, with upper and lower halls, three bays, a central courtyard, and a two-story connected layout. The lower level features a wooden screen wall, the side rooms are adorned with hanging latticework, and there are also wooden components such as skirt boards and low railings. The floor is made of rammed earth, and the upper part of the main gate is fitted with a five-tiered brick archway. Inside the gate, there is a double-column wooden screen wall. The courtyard is flanked by side rooms decorated with carved wooden hanging latticework. The eaves are adorned with skirt boards and low railings. Indoor wooden carvings include bracket arms, spandrels, dougong blocks, hanging latticework, windows, and doors. The entire structure is well-preserved and holds certain cultural relic value. In 2000, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of the county, with approval document number Jizheng [2000] No. 31.

Wang Ziyě (1916–1991)

Pen name: Hújiāo (Pepper). A native of Jixi, Anhui. Member of the Communist Party of China. In 1938, he entered the Shaanbei Public School. He served successively as a member of the editorial board of the Jin-Cha-Ji Daily, editor-in-chief and president of Xinhua Monthly and the People’s Publishing House, party group secretary and director of the National Publishing Administration, and director of the National Publishing Commission. He was vice president of the Translators Association of China, council member of the China Writers Association, member of the second, third, fourth, and seventh National Committees of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and deputy to the fifth and sixth National People’s Congresses. Renli Village: Renli Village (also known as Darénli) is located 3 kilometers southeast of Jixi County and just 4 kilometers from the seat of the township government. The Longchuan Highway runs westward through the village. The county’s largest river, the Dengyuan River, meanders through the village for three kilometers, providing abundant water resources. With a history of over 1,100 years, the village was established in 539 AD. It consists of six natural villages, eight villager groups, 496 households, and a population of nearly 2,000, making it the only administrative village in the town that has not been merged.
