Chen Minghua’s Residence

Located at No. 21, Shuma Village, Banqiaotou Township, it was built in the late Qing Dynasty. The residence faces south and has a single-entry, three-bay layout, comprising a main hall, kitchen, and courtyard. The front part of the house features a gable-and-hip roof, while the rear is a two-story structure without a central courtyard. The wooden components are intact, and the lattice windows, diagonal braces, and spandrels in the side rooms are decorated with fine carvings. This building can be considered a masterpiece of late Qing Dynasty Huizhou-style architecture.

Shuma Village: After being designated by the county as a pilot village for building a new socialist countryside, Shuma Village in Banqiaotou Township, in accordance with the unified arrangements of the county’s New Socialist Countryside Construction Leadership Group and under the guidance of the County New Village Office, promptly convened a villagers' representative assembly. The assembly elected and established a Council for Environmental Sanitation Improvement in the New Countryside Village, clarified the council’s responsibilities, and defined its relationship with the village’s two committees.
