The former site of the Anti-Japanese Work Corps Headquarters — Liu Clan Branch Ancestral Hall Jicheng Tang is located in Shacun, Zhongguan Township, Yuexi County.
The Liu Clan Branch Ancestral Hall Jicheng Tang is located in Yangkou Group, Qiuqian Village, Zhongguan Township, Yuexi County, Anhui Province. Constructed in the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it faces northeast and consists of 64 rooms covering an area of 1,000 square meters. The layout is a single-axis, three-courtyard, two-wing, quadrangle-style complex, with side courtyards (effectively enclosed wings), seven-rafter beams in the middle and rear halls, single-step beams in the front, single-eave double-slope roofing, gable-and-hip roofs, horse-head walls, gray tiles, exposed brick walls, white lime-painted eaves adorned with patterns of figures and flowers. It is a typical example of ancient architecture from southwestern Anhui, notable for its distinctive architectural style and technique, set within a beautiful, open, and dignified environment. The structure holds high artistic value.
In its early years, the ancestral hall was used solely for clan activities. In early June 1938, the Yuexi County Committee assigned Wang Rong to lead the 31st Anti-Japanese Work Corps to establish residence here, forming a Mass Mobilization Committee and the Shacun Special Branch. During the Liberation War period, this site also served as a red base area. The hall now houses over twenty exhibition rooms displaying portraits with biographies, photographs, historical documents, and cultural relics in display cabinets. Two major exhibitions are set up: one on the history of the Anti-Japanese Work Corps and the other on the revolutionary deeds of Shacun, aiming to honor martyrs and educate future generations.
