China Fan Museum
Fans have a long history and culture in China, with "Hangzhou fans" being renowned as one of the "Five Hangs" as early as the Southern Song Dynasty. The China Fan Museum is located in the Gongchenqiao West Historical and Cultural Block along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal (Hangzhou section). As the only museum in China dedicated exclusively to fans, it was built on the former site of Hangzhou No. 1 Cotton Mill and showcases the classical elegance of fan culture and the exquisite craftsmanship of fan-making. The permanent exhibition area covers 2,623 square meters. It officially opened to the public in September 2009.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–16:00 (closed all day on Mondays)
