Dadou Road Historical Block

The Dadou Road Historical Block covers a total area of 95,000 square meters. It features traditional lanes such as Shahe Lane, Renhe Warehouse Lane, and Xiangji Temple Alley, making it one of the old neighborhoods in Hangzhou where historical charm still remains. The block lies to the north against the ancient canal tax checkpoint of Beixin Pass, to the south next to Fuyi Warehouse — known as the “Granary of the Nation,” to the east beside Xiangji Temple — hailed as the “First Incense of the Canal,” and to the west along the canal. This area was once the trading hub for fish, rice, paper, fruits, and other goods in Hangzhou. Today, the Dadou Road Historical Block has evolved into a premium historical and cultural food street that integrates heritage conservation, cultural leisure, commercial tourism, and residential living. In 2011, it was awarded the title of “China’s Characteristic Commercial Street” by the Ministry of Commerce.
