Xitang Yongning Bridge
Standing on Yongning Bridge, you can enjoy a panoramic view of both banks of Xutang River, with a rustic covered bridge to the south. The narrow Xutang River forms a water lane, with an imitation ancient street to the west and the historic Tangdong Street to the east.
Introduction
Yongning Bridge is currently the best scenic viewpoint in town. On the north bank, the Chao'nan Dai Corridor stretches along the water like a winding dragon, with pedestrians and cyclists all walking beneath it—a scene rarely seen in other ancient towns.
The south bank is the back side of Xijie, lined with uneven residential buildings along the river, most dating from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republican era. The grand ancestral houses feature soaring fire walls, while blue bricks, black tiles, and stone river bridges are all visible. This area is especially favored by photographers and painters, serving as a prime spot for their artistic inspiration.
