The Qian Family Boat Shed is located to the south of House No. 12 in Rangxiang, Changsheng Village, Gan Yao Town. It was built during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty by Qian Zhongqiao, the wealthiest man in the area at the time.

The shed covers an area of 108 square meters, faces west, and consists of four rooms, with a total width of 7 meters and a depth of 13 meters. It has a hip-and-gable roof, and its beam structure employs seven beams supported by two columns. Stone pillars on the southern side are erected in the water to provide support, with bricks laid atop them, while those on the northern side stand along the revetment, which is constructed with interlocking granite blocks. The easternmost first room is built with bricks and served as housing for boatmen, while the western three rooms were used for mooring boats. There is one inner river dock and one splayed river dock.

The Qian Family Boat Shed is the only remaining one in Jiashan and is also quite rare within the province. It serves as physical evidence for studying boat sheds in the Jiangnan water towns, possessing certain historical, artistic, and scientific value.

In January 2011, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.
