Fuxing Bridge is located beside No. 1166, Zhongshan West Road, Weitang Subdistrict. The top of the arch ring is inscribed with “Constructed on a propitious day in the 12th month of the Shunzhi Bing Shen year (1656), commissioned by Zhang Wenxing, the Chief Patrol Officer and County Administrator, and funded by local resident Chen Yu along with his wife Tang.” The arch ring also bears the inscription “Reconstructed Fuxing Bridge, established in the winter of the 12th year of the Guangxu reign (1886), Bing Xu year.” Originally, there were stone balusters with small lion carvings on the capitals, but they have fallen into the river. Only the decorative railings (beauty’s lean) remain. In June 2010, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Fuxing Bridge covers an area of 83 square meters. It is a single-arch stone bridge oriented from east to west, spanning the Tanjia Bang Canal. The bridge deck is 23.6 meters long and 3.3 meters wide, while the bridge abutments are 3.7 meters wide. The arch rise is 4.4 meters, and the span of the arch is 7.7 meters. The arch ring is built using a continuous vertical joint method with separate placement. The keystone features a Taiji diagram and a classical design, while the soffit on the right side is carved with lotus and ruyi patterns. There are 23 steps on both the eastern and western sides. The bridge is relatively well-preserved, with an elegant overall structure, and it still serves an important function today.

On June 7, 2010, Jiashan Fuxing Bridge was announced as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiashan County.

Ximen Community: Ximen Community is located at No. 8, Lane 39, Huanxinan Road, Weitang Subdistrict, Jiashan County. The neighborhood committee was established in February 1953. The area lies south of the railway, north of Huanxinan Road, east of Fuxing Bridge, and west of Xicheng River, covering a total area of 0.7 square kilometers. The jurisdiction is divided into four sections, with a total of 871 registered households, a population of 2,265, and 2,509 new residents.

This is an old community with narrow roads and lanes, and crisscrossing rivers. Facilities such as gateball courts, fitness trails, exercise areas, banks, and supermarkets are readily available. The community has a simple and honest atmosphere, still retaining the feel of the 1970s and 1980s… More details about Ximen Community++
