Datong Bridge
Datong Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiashan County.
Datong Bridge is located in Linjiadai, Zhendong Village, Tianning Town. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is classified as an ancient architectural structure.
The central arch of the bridge bears the inscription “Reconstructed in the seventh year of the Guangxu reign (1881), Datong Bridge.” In June 2010, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
Datong Bridge covers an area of 59 square meters. It is a five-arch stone slab flat bridge running from north to south across the Linjiadai Canal, stretching 32.9 meters in length with a deck width of 1.8 meters. The bridge deck is paved with three long flagstones, while the piers and foundation are built with layered stone slabs. It has railings and six pairs of column-shaped balusters, with nine steps on the northern side and eight on the southern side.
This bridge is of considerable age but remains largely intact. As five-arch bridges are rare in the Jiaxing region, it holds significant historical and artistic value.
On June 7, 2010, Datong Bridge was officially designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiashan County.
