Jishan Bridge

It is located on Chaobeitan Road in Taozhuang Town. According to the Jiashan County Annals from the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, it was built in the 60th year of the Qianlong reign (1795). In January 2004, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection site.

Jishan Bridge covers an area of 52 square meters, and is a single-arch stone bridge oriented east-west, spanning the southern outlet of Jingchi Pond. The bridge is 17.9 meters long, with a deck width of 2.4 meters and abutment width of 2.9 meters. Its arch rise is 3 meters, and the span is 6.6 meters. The arch ring is constructed with vertically linked, segmentally arranged stones. The bridge deck is equipped with railings and two pairs of pier columns. The central design of the keystone features a wind-fire wheel, surrounded by four ruyi motifs on each side. There are 14 steps on the eastern side and 20 steps on the western side. This bridge is one of the older ancient bridges in Taozhuang Town, holding certain historical value. The bridge’s ears, pier columns, and the carved patterns on the keystone are particularly delicate and beautiful. Although a concrete bridge has been built nearby and this bridge is no longer in use, due to the increased tilt of the structure and severe damage to the deck, in January 2015, Taozhuang Town carried out a comprehensive restoration of the bridge.
