The Ancient Architectural Complex of Shangjiangyang is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.
The Ancient Architectural Complex of Shangjiangyang is located in Hengxi Town, Xianju County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.
In the traditional Chinese village of Shangjiangyang in Hengxi Town, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province, the historic complex known as "Three Rows and Nine Courtyards" preserves well-preserved inlaid stone and pebble floors on the ground of each ancient gate hall. These floors feature intricate designs such as lions playing with balls, double fish playing in water, and floral and insect patterns, all meticulously crafted and vividly lifelike. Shangjiangyang Village is situated at the heart of the Baduyang Plain, adjacent to the early Neolithic site of Xiata Village. The village currently has six ancient residential buildings covering an area of over 13,000 square meters. As a representative of the “Three Rows and Nine Courtyards” ancient architectural complex in Xianju, these traditional houses showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Xiata culture.
On January 13, 2017, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province announced it as part of the seventh batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Units.
