Zhujiajian Cross-sea Bridge (Jintang Bridge)
The Jintang Bridge is actually the Zhujiajian Cross-sea Bridge. It is a cross-sea bridge connecting Ningbo and the main island of Zhoushan, and is the longest of the five main bridges in the Zhoushan Mainland Connecting Project. It is a cable-stayed bridge with a majestic design. Before this bridge was completed and opened to traffic, there was no land route between Ningbo and the main island of Zhoushan, and travel between the two places relied solely on ferries. After the bridge was built, it greatly facilitated travel for people in both regions and provided a strong boost to Zhoushan’s development. Seafood from Zhoushan can now be transported more quickly and conveniently to inland cities such as Ningbo, and it has also brought great convenience for self-driving tourists visiting Zhoushan.
When driving from Shanghai to Dinghai, you will definitely pass this bridge. This bridge is the only route from downtown Zhoushan to Zhujiajian, and you can enjoy the scenery along the way.
Friendly reminder:
Watch your speed limit—limit, limit, limit—it’s important to say it three times, because if you exceed the speed limit, the bridge signs will show the license plates of offending vehicles, and you’ll have to pay a fine after exiting the bridge.
