Nandong Art Valley, also known as Sun Valley, is a national drama base, a training ground for art schools across China, an educational experience destination for primary and secondary students, and a leisure and wellness retreat for middle-aged and elderly visitors. If you can’t find it, just ask locals about “the place with the train”—most will know what you mean. Nandong Art Valley is made up of three adjacent villages: Huangsha, Lichen, and Nandong. The area’s landmark is the nostalgic green train mentioned earlier, along with the local houses adorned with murals—referred to by residents as “wall paintings.” It’s called the “Art Valley.”

Sun Valley is divided into twelve sections: the Artists’ Landscape Garden, Folk Inn, Fishermen’s Wharf, Pirate City, Wooden Fishing Boat Museum, Meritorious Train Park, Fun Agriculture Zone, International Mural Village, Ming-Qing Old Street, Art Center, and Ming-Qing Folk Village.
