Zhoushan Haishan Park
Haishan Park is situated at the northern edge of Dinghai District in Zhoushan City, on the southern foothills of Longfenggang Mountain, and spans 28.4 hectares. Construction started in March 1998 and the park was completed in October 1999. Following the natural contours of the mountain, the park features a variety of distinctive attractions built from the base to the summit, including the Haishan Zenghui Square, Fountain Square, Observation Deck, Yao Gong Memorial Square, and the Revolutionary Martyrs Square at the mountaintop. The park boasts numerous historical sites and cultural landmarks. At the main entrance square stands the “Haishan Zenghui” memorial archway inscribed by Guo Moruo. At the foot of the mountain are key provincial, municipal, and district-level cultural heritage sites such as the “Zhoushan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery,” “Tongguiyu,” and “Fan Gong Pond.” The park also houses nationally renowned research forests such as the Redwood Grove and Bamboo Species Garden, as well as economic forest gardens including the Moso Bamboo Garden, Pomelo Garden, and Bayberry Garden. Additionally, there are 20 century-old ancient trees and over ten thousand square meters of lawns, with a green coverage rate of 94.6%. The park is well-equipped with public facilities, featuring thoughtfully arranged hiking trails and scenic spots, along with pavilions, terraces, and corridors that are scattered harmoniously throughout the wooded landscape.
