The Zhoushan City Exhibition Hall is designated as a patriotic education base.

The "Zhoushan City Exhibition Hall" is an important part of the Zhoushan Ocean Culture and Art Center. It serves as a key platform for citizens to learn about urban development, participate in city planning, showcase the city's image, and promote its culture. It is also a significant venue for the city’s external exchanges and receiving visitors. The four-story building covers a total construction area of 4,500 square meters, including 3,300 square meters of exhibition space. The first floor mainly features a lobby, an overview of the New District, and the Spatial Development Strategic Plan for Zhoushan Islands New Area, Zhejiang. The second floor consists of four sections: City Overview, Urban Memory, Historic City Preservation, and Harmonious City. The third floor displays the Overall Plan for Zhoushan Islands New Area, Zhejiang. The fourth floor includes island planning, planning announcements, and a curved-screen cinema. Together, they provide a comprehensive display of Zhoushan’s past, present, and future.

The hall houses over 100 exhibition panels, 3 films, and 8 models. Among these, there are two large models covering 250 and 450 square meters respectively. In addition to traditional display methods such as panels and models, the exhibition hall adopts an innovative layout that extensively incorporates high-tech elements. These include dynamic display equipment, convenient guidance systems, multimedia, multi-point floor sensing, electronic flipbooks, and multi-channel projection technologies. The design emphasizes visitor participation and interaction, featuring special areas such as “How Much Do You Know About Zhoushan?” and a 3D virtual cinema. This allows visitors to learn about urban planning, construction, and management in an engaging, enjoyable, educational, and artistic atmosphere. The exhibitions vividly present Zhoushan’s achievements in urban economic and social development, fully showcase the city’s history, current state, and future direction, as well as the ambitious blueprint for the planning and construction of Zhoushan Islands New Area, Zhejiang.

All exhibitions at the Zhoushan City Exhibition Hall are open to the public free of charge: from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays for maintenance.
