The Ming-Qing Historical Block is situated along West Street and Middle Street in Dinghai, which were commercial streets during the late Qing Dynasty. The streets are 4.5 meters wide, making them true commercial avenues for their time. The area features two-story wooden structures with firewalls, and the second-floor covered corridors were the best vantage points for overlooking the bustling street scenes in those days.

Nowadays, the Ming-Qing Historical Block mostly consists of newly built imitation ancient buildings, with shops primarily selling tourist souvenirs or antiques.

The Ming-Qing Historical Block offers some quite tasty snacks, making it a great spot for a leisurely stroll.
