Cengang Bridge

Cengang Bridge is the shortest of the Zhoushan Island-Linking Bridges and the one closest to Zhoushan Island. Once you cross this bridge, you exit the highway.

Cengang Bridge is the first bridge extending from the main island among the Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridges, connecting Cengang and Lidiao Island.

Zhoushan is an emerging island port tourism city in China, with significant geographical advantages and unique natural resources including “fishing, harbors, and scenery.” The construction of the Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridges creates an all-weather passage between Zhoushan and the mainland, transforming Zhoushan from an isolated island into a peninsula connected to the mainland, and making it a harbor city extending from the mainland into the sea. This achieves a connection between the island and the mainland, closely integrating the development of the island’s distinctive economy with the mainland’s well-established infrastructure network. It also combines China’s best deep-water shoreline resources with vast land areas, which has profound significance for further developing Zhoushan’s marine resources and promoting economic growth in Zhejiang Province, the Yangtze River Delta, and even China as a whole.

Cengang (Cén Gǎng) Bridge spans the Cengang Channel, connecting the main island’s Cengang area with Lidiao Island. As the first bridge extending from the Zhoushan main island, it plays a guiding role toward the other bridges. The design takes into account the bridge’s proximity to the main island, striving to make full use of its favorable scenic borrowing conditions, allowing the bridge to harmonize with the islands and seawater. The smooth lines of the bridge are perfectly complemented by the surrounding environment, creating a new landmark on the main island.
