The Liu Hongsheng Memorial Hall is located in the renovated former residence of Liu Hongsheng, situated at No. 6 Juikui Lane, Furongzhou Road, Dinghai District. Covering an area of 555 square meters with a building area of 364.63 square meters, it has a history of over 90 years. The exhibition hall is quaint and elegant, featuring upturned eaves. It houses 18 display panels and 16 showcases of artifacts, with a main exhibition line stretching 25 meters and a display area of 150 square meters. The exhibits are rich in historical detail and beautifully presented. Among the items on display are China’s first stock certificate, issued by Liu Hongsheng in 1948 when he served as chairman of the China Merchants Steam Navigation Company under the Nationalist government, as well as photographs of Liu Hongsheng meeting with national leaders such as Zhou Enlai and Chen Yi during his lifetime. The hall also displays over 400 items once used by Liu Hongsheng, including his writing desk, liquor cabinet, and account books. Additionally, the memorial hall features biographical introductions of some other notable figures from Zhoushan who gained prominence overseas.
