Announcement Date: August 29, 1997

Located 40 meters north of Guniang Fen Dun in Matou Town. Discovered in 1983, the site currently covers an area of about 1,700 square meters. The cultural layer is approximately 1.5 meters thick. Artifacts collected include fragments of sand-tempered red pottery, clay red-gray pottery, and carbon-tempered red pottery, decorated with cord and incised patterns. Identifiable vessel shapes include cauldrons, tripods, jars, bowls, and pedestals. Stone tools such as axes, adzes, arrowheads, chisels, sickles, spinning whorls, knives, and soil-breaking tools are all fully polished.

Matou Subdistrict: Matou, anciently known as "Jingtao," is located at 122.05° east longitude and 30.07° north latitude. It lies in the northwest part of Zhoushan Main Island, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on one side, featuring a basin-like terrain. It is only 10 kilometers away from Dinghai District, the downtown area of Zhoushan City. To the south, it connects to the mainland road network via the "Blue Highway" through Dingma Road and Yadan Mountain to Baifeng. To the north, it links to Daishan, Shengsi, Shanghai, and other areas via the Matou Sanjiang Wharf. The town covers an area of about 25 square kilometers and currently governs 7 administrative villages with a population of over 10,000.
