Danzhu Leisure Valley, also known as Danzhu Primeval Forest, is located in Danzhu Township in the southwestern part of Xianju County, 45 kilometers from the county seat. It is one of the core scenic areas of Xianju National Key Scenic Spot. Covering a total area of 80 square kilometers, the valley’s subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest is rich in flora and fauna and boasts a diverse ecosystem, with over 2,000 species of wild plants and animals.

Among them, there are more than 100 species of wild plants and animals under national protection or classified as rare and endangered, including the southern yew, fragrant fruit tree, white-necked long-tailed pheasant, leopard, and Chinese giant salamander. Experts have praised it as a rare natural plant “green gene bank” and “museum” in the province, and it is also known as a “natural medicine treasury.” Danzhu Primeval Forest is an ecological tourism and leisure destination characterized by its “forest.”

The scenic area is divided into three major zones: the leisure and sightseeing zone, the science education and sightseeing zone, and the forest adventure zone. In the 7-kilometer valley leisure area stretching from the Stone Ancient Village to the Thatched Cottage Mountain Villa, you can fully enjoy farmstay fun, natural hot springs, tea tasting at teahouses, and rural vacation experiences. The 2-kilometer trail from Thatched Cottage Mountain Villa to Dragon Pool and Tiger Cave is the science education and sightseeing zone. As you stroll leisurely along this path, you will experience the diversity of life and the harmonious rhythms of nature, breathe in the negative ions of the forest oxygen bar, and find yourself refreshed and reluctant to leave.
