Xitang Rock Carvings
The Xitang Rock Carvings are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Zhejiang Province.
The Xitang Rock Carvings are located in Xitang Village, Shangzhang Township, Xianju County, dating back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods.
On the rocky slopes of the mountain in Xitang Village, there are approximately 1,000 square meters of rock carvings, forming the largest rock art cluster in the southeastern coastal region. The steep cliffs are covered with variously sized patterns featuring smooth lines, bold strokes, and an ancient style. Among the over 100 images are depictions of flowers, snakes, chessboards, the sun, axes, human figures, and more, including nine uniquely shaped snake patterns that are especially uncommon.
On January 7, 2011, they were designated as part of the sixth batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units.
