Former Site of the General’s Rock Transport Station on Shiban Mountain

In 1937, Liu Ying, Secretary of the Provisional Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in Fujian–Zhejiang Border Region, led the provincial committee to carry out work in the Zhishan area and established the Party organization in Shiban Village. Thereafter, the provincial and special committees dispatched comrades such as Wu Yu to lead armed personnel to operate in Zhishan on multiple occasions, often staying at General’s Rock on Shiban Mountain. To transmit the Party’s directives, intelligence, newspapers, and deliver supplies, escort cadres, and collect funds, in 1945 the Yongjia County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party established a transport station at General’s Rock on Shiban Mountain, with Lin Zhixian as the head. The station was responsible for transport duties along three routes: the southern route connected Fujian and Zhejiang; the western route reached Qingyuan and Lishui; and the eastern route linked to Siming Mountain in eastern Zhejiang. From 1945 to 1949, it also served as the permanent site of the Yongjia County Committee. The Third District Team of the Southern Zhejiang Guerrilla Column also frequently stayed here, holding meetings, conducting drills, and resting.

The former site of the General’s Rock Transport Station on Shiban Mountain is located in Shiban Village, Zeya Town, Ouhai District. Seven old wooden tile-roofed houses are preserved on the site. The area is surrounded by lush forests, and there is a cliff in front of the houses commonly known as “General’s Rock,” overlooking Zeya Reservoir. This is a single household dwelling, situated far from the village center, with a mountain path connecting to the winding mountain road. The house is owned by the five brothers of the Lin Guomin family, sons of Lin Zhixian, the former head of the transport station.

The former site of the General’s Rock Transport Station on Shiban Mountain is a cultural relic protection unit of Ouhai District.
