Xianyan Liu Ji Temple

Xianyan Liu Ji Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Ouhai District.

Liu Ji Temple is located in Suifeng Village, Xianyan Town, Ouhai District. Originally a ancestral hall of the Liu family, it was later converted into a temple. It was expanded in the 19th year of the Wanli era (1591) and began to take its current form. Covering an area of nearly 1,000 square meters, the temple faces south and features a brick-and-wood structure, consisting of a front hall, rear hall, stage, and left and right corridors. The front hall has five bays with a total width of 20 meters, and the central bay uses raised-beam construction, while the side bays feature through-tenon construction, with a double-eave hip-and-gable roof. The rear hall has seven bays with a total width of 19.5 meters and a double-eave hip-and-gable roof. In 1989, funds were raised for major renovations, during which three painted statues of Liu Ji and his two sons were created.
