Litang Well

Litang Well

Litang Well is a cultural relic protection unit of Ouhai District.

Litang Well is located in Litang Village, Litao Town, Ouhai District. It was built in the first year of Yuanyou during the Northern Song Dynasty (1098). The well is constructed of stone, with a diameter of 0.67 meters. The well curb is carved from a single piece of granite, hexagonal on the outside and circular on the inside, standing 0.57 meters high with a diameter of 1.05 meters and a thickness of 0.42 meters. It bears an inscription that reads: "In the eighth month of the Wuyin year of Yuanyou, Wang Gao donated... to build." The well water is clear and cool, and never dries up even in prolonged drought.
