Yuankou Yongning Bridge

Yuankou Yongning Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Ouhai District.

Yongning Bridge is located in Yuankou Village, Zeya Town, Ouhai District. Also known as Yuliu Bridge, it is also referred to as the “Yuankou Ford Bridge.” Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, it underwent major repairs in the 23rd year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1897). The bridge is 97 meters long and about 1.3 meters wide, featuring 25 stone pillar piers designed like stepping stones, each carved with grooves. Three stone beams are mortised together to form the bridge deck, flanked by thick stone slabs for protection. The bridge deck is less than 0.5 meters above the river surface. When the water rises sharply, it can flow over the bridge deck, but normal passage for pedestrians, horses, and carts resumes once the water subsides. Its design is simple and rustic, with a rational structure. Mao Yisheng introduced this bridge as a typical bridge structure in his book "Stories of Bridges."
