Liancheng Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Huzhou City. It is administered by the Nanxun District Committee. Established as Liancheng Town in the first year of the Republic of China (1911), it was divided into two townships—Liancheng and Quanren—in 1956. Both were reorganized as communes in 1961, and Liancheng Town was re-established in 1962. By 1984, it comprised Liancheng Town and the two townships of Liancheng and Quanren. In 1993, both Liancheng Township and Quanren Township were incorporated into Liancheng Town. Located in the eastern part of the city, it is 41 kilometers from downtown Huzhou. Covering an area of 71 square kilometers, it has a population of 51,000. The Huzhou–Yan (Yanhuai) Highway runs through the town, and its waterways include the Hangzhou–Shanghai Branch Line of the Beijing–Hangzhou Grand Canal, Shinan Pond, Fuluqiao Pond, and Baima Pond, which crisscross the area.
